Jennifer Garner is a West Virginia native who was born in Houston on the 17th of April, 1972. William John Garner worked as a chemist for Union Carbide. Her mother Patricia Ann taught at a local college. In the hopes of following in her father's footsteps her graduation was an education in chemical engineering. But because she wanted to fulfill her ambition of becoming an actor, she relocated in New York to try her chance in the movie industry. She worked at a restaurant as well as appearing in Broadway shows. She was in as a guest on the television series "Felicity." This is here she got to know Scott Foley, her first husband. She got her big break in the action film "Alias." Her first leading role was the acclaimed romantic comedy "13 going on thirty." She played the role of a teenager caught trapped in the body of an older woman of 30. Garner chose Gary Winick, who directed the film. She and Winick were able to continue to collaborate in pursuing other projects even after his passing. Garner was made an ambassador for artists to Save the Children U.S.A. This includes the advancement of the importance of nutrition, literacy and early childhood education. Garner was a member as the group's president since 2014, is an advocate for early education. She has been a spokesperson to the Early Steps to School Success Program. She coaches parents on ways to aid their children's learning.
